How it works
JUNIOR GOLF SCHOOLS
The junior golf school is a structured, intensive programme covering every area of the game. Open to all junior golfers — regardless of ability, location or who they currently coach with. Here's exactly how it works.
The junior school follows the same structured methodology Gary uses across all his performance coaching — but compressed into 2 or 3 intensive days. Every session has a purpose, every change is measured on the course, and every junior leaves with a personal action plan built from real evidence.
The school covers every area of the game — full swing, short game, putting, course management, green reading and mental approach. Nothing is left out. And it ends with a stroke play competition so juniors can apply everything they've worked on under real pressure.
Each cycle produces measurable improvement before the next begins
Play
On-course play
Gary assesses every area of each junior's game in real on-course conditions — how they think, decide and perform under pressure.
Assess
Individual assessment
Findings shared with each junior. A personal action plan built around what the round revealed — specific, targeted, honest.
Train
Targeted training
Range and practice work built directly from the assessment. Every drill has a specific purpose connected to on-course performance.
Repeat
Back on the course
Applying changes in real conditions. Progress measured. Plan refined. The cycle continues throughout the school.
Final
Stroke play competition
The school ends with a stroke play competition — green reading included. Real pressure, real scoring, real results to take away.
"By the end of the school, every junior has played, been assessed, trained with purpose and competed. That's not a lesson. That's a transformation."
GARY COOKE — HEAD COACH
Every area of the game is addressed across the school days. Nothing is left to chance — each topic connects directly to the on-course performance Gary observes during the playing sessions.
On-course performance & course management
Full swing — driver, irons, fairway woods
Short game — chipping, pitching, bunkers
Putting — stroke mechanics & consistency
Green reading — Tour Read system
Mental approach & competitive preparation
Purposeful practice methods
Stroke play competition — final day
Junior golf schools are open to all juniors — no prior sessions with Gary needed. Whether your junior is working with another coach, just starting out or looking for a concentrated jump-start, the school is designed to deliver real improvement in a short time.
Already working with another coach? That's absolutely fine — and actually one of the reasons these schools exist. Two or three focused days gives Gary enough time to carry out a full assessment and deliver meaningful improvement. Your junior takes what they learn back to their regular programme and builds on it.
Whalebone Lane Golf Club is within 10 miles of central London. Premier Inn is directly across the road. Families travelling for a junior school can combine it with everything the capital has to offer — the museums, the landmarks, the Thames. Arrive the evening before, spend a day or two on the course with Gary, explore London the rest of the time, and leave with a better golf game than when you arrived.
Junior school pricing varies by duration and is confirmed when each school is announced. Schools are announced in advance — register your interest to be notified of upcoming dates.
